As some of you know, I am a bit addicted to scraps and scrap quilts. I blogged about the center part of these blocks in the blog post on crumb blocks–And Then There Were 53 –though there are a lot more than 53 now. I haven’t counted recently, so I don’t know how many. Then I blogged about the first six blocks when I finished them. A couple of weekends back I finished the remaining six blocks. Last weekend I put the top together with the multi-colored sashing and cornerstones.

Then I pieced the backing. I’ve become really enamored of pieced backings lately.

I hope to have this one finished up and ready to go to Sacred Shawl, a domestic violence shelter on the Pine Ridge Reservation. They were down to their last four blankets the last I heard, so they have a big need for blankets now…especially with winter fast approaching. This means I’ll be spending some time quilting projects that are already layered and waiting over the next few weeks…also working on Christmas gifts…and more crayon rolls which will be given to the children of Pine Ridge as Halloween prizes and Christmas gifts.

I’m sharing this post at the following link parties:
