This will be my 15 Minutes To Quilt post for this week. I’ll also share with Scrap Happy Saturday, Oh Scrap! and Patchwork & Quilts.
This week I was able to quilt at least 15 minutes 6 days of the week. Most days I was able to quilt quite a bit more than 15 minutes. All in all, I accomplished quite a bit though not all of it has been photographed.
I finished “the shoe quilt” top which has been a thorn in my side for a long time. It’s been one of those projects that started out with different intentions. I started out with white as a neutral, but I decided near the end of putting the top together, that I really liked black a lot better. I haven’t had a chance to photograph the finished top yet, so I’ll have to show it in a later post. It’s probably the top that I’m most relieved to finally have finished.
Though I’d hoped to get the backing for the wild colored quilt finished, I didn’t make any progress on that score. I’d also hoped to put the pink, black, and purple blocks together with sashing, but I didn’t make progress on that score either.
I did work on Frugal Blocks. The Frugal Patch from Quilterscache is one of my go to blocks for using scraps. I’ve used this block for several years and have made several quilts using the pattern. I’m currently saving blocks for a king-sized quilt for my own bed. I’m expecting the king-sized quilt to take 120 blocks if I don’t use a border. So far, I have 55 blocks finished, so I’m a little less than half way finished collecting blocks for the king-sized quilt.
Though I’m focused on finishing works that are already in progress I’m also looking forward to starting some new projects – probably in the new year. Connecting threads is definitely tempting me. They have some beautiful fabrics in a variety of collections that really make my fingers itch to start something new.

Thanks for stopping by and saying hello! Yes, it was a fairly busy week. I’m pleased with what I was able to get done…especially finishing the shoe top. It’s been on my agenda a long time.
Someone pointed out gray as a great neutral too…I’m rather liking it with the Arkansas Snowflakes blocks I blogged about last week.
It always feels so good to finish a project that hasn’t worked well for whatever reason. So congrats on that finish. Happy stitching this week.

Thank you for stopping by and saying hello! Thanks also for the linkup! I really like this pattern for scrap busting. For a long time it was my only scrap project, but as the scraps have continued to multiply faster than I used them I’ve added a few other scrap projects to my roster. This is still a favorite though.
Next, I think I’m going to see if I can figure out a heart block made with small scraps. I like heart blocks for donation quilts.
