I’ve scoured the internet looking for sites that sell embroidery designs. I’ve personally visited every one of these sites and have strived to give an indication of what each site offers. I’m still adding to this list (August 2023) so be sure to check back often.
4-Hobby
4-Hobby carries a variety of embroidery designs including some lovely floral bookmarks/glasses cases in the flowers category.
ABC Embroidery Designs
ABC offers a wide range of embroidery designs including machine applique embroidery designs, machine cross stitch, and beautiful cutwork designs.
Ace Points
Ace points is one of my favorite sites at which to buy embroidery designs. They have a huge selection of machine embroidery designs which include free standing lace, free standing lace jewelry, delicate floral designs, beautiful, delicate Christmas designs and more.
A Creative Medley
A Creative Medley offers a nice selection of applique designs which include a cute butterfly, cute boat, and several cute owls, a hippo, a whale and a bunch more. They also have a big selection of in the hoop projects including felties, stuffies, burp cloths and more.
Adorable Ideas
Adorable Ideas offers several CD’s, each filled with designs. There are several CD’s with bear designs, which are quite cute. The designs on each of the CD’s would work great for making quilt blocks for a darling baby or child’s quilt.
AKA Applique
AKA Applique sells cute applique designs and in the hoop designs for stuffed animals, hair clip and bow keepers, and more.
Alinaline’s
Alinaline’s offers a big selection of free-standing lace, embroidery and cutwork. The site offers some beautiful table runners, table cloths, placemats and lace coasters.
Aljay’s
Aljay’s offers some beautiful, delicate floral and floral bird designs and a set of darling applique dogs among many, many more beautiful designs.
Allsorts Embroidery
Allsorts Embroidery, true to their name offers all sorts of embroidery. They have lots of in the hoop mugrugs, beautiful, delicate embroidery, some redwork, and lots more.
Allstitch Embroidery
Allstitch has a sizeable collection of embroidery designs which include both delicate embroidery, more folk art flavored embroidery, several sets of quilt block designs, some cute placemat designs and more.
All Stitches N Paint
All Stitches N Paint carries a lot Australian themed designs. They feature a lot of free standing lace or lace and cutwork doilies. They also carry quite a few mug rugs, and other in the hoop projects. Check out the Christmas kangaroo mug rug to delight the kangaroo lover in your life.
Anada’s Divine Designs
Anada’s has a lot of very beautiful applique designs, including a lot of winter/Christmas designs featuring snowmen.
An Ursula Michael Original
This site features word art designs in several categories including dogs, cats, boats, camping and others. Satin-stitched words about the subject (cats for example) create the image of the subject. So the words cat, fuzzy, whiskers, kittens and so on create an image of a cat. These designs would be fun stitched on a sweatshirt or t-shirt.
Angel Designs
This site offers quite a few cartoon style filled embroidery designs and quite a few nice applique designs, including some cute cactus designs.
Ann the Gran
Ann the Gran has a huge site with a huge area featuring free designs and then a sizeable area featuring designs for sale.
Apex Embroidery Designs
Apex Embroidery features a huge catalog of applique and filled designs plus tons of pretty fonts.
Applique Cafe
Applique Cafe has a nice selection of applique designs in various categories including for boys, girls, transportation, and design on a dime where each design is just a dime.
Applique Corner
Applique Corner is a lovely shop with a lot of cute applique designs. They have some darling bulldogs, and a somewhat scary alligator that would be cute on a little boy’s shirt.
Applique Crazy
Applique Crazy has a nice mix of applique and in the hoop designs. There’s a cute applique 4 wheeler that would make darling quilt blocks for a kid’s quilt. There’s a pretty umbrella that would make a nice quilt block interspersed with other flower or gardening themed blocks. Plus, there’s a lot more to explore at this shop.
Applique For Kids
Applique For Kids has a lot of cute applique designs. Some of my favorite are the dinosaurs and the Siamese cats. But there’s an ice cream truck and much more at this site.
Applique Market
Applique Market is a sweet little shop with a lot of cute designs, including a sailboat, pontoon boat, tractor, pickup truck and more. In addition to the cute applique they also have a lot of cute fonts.
A Proverbs31 Wife
A Proverbs31 Wife is a nice Etsy shop which features a lot of designs for home decor pieces. There are also nice selections for Christmas and Thanksgiving. Check out the fonts and font frames too.
Artapli
Artapli is a large shop with thousands of designs arranged in popular categories. There are tons of beautiful fonts and cute sayings, lots of fringe designs, a bunch of neat designs for the little or big boy in your life, plus lots of freestanding lace and other designs. Artapli is definitely worth a look.
Art Embroidery Designs
Art Embroidery Designs is a varied shop with a nice variety. They have several cute Sunbonnet Sue designs as well as a good selection of designs to make doll clothes. There’s also a good-sized selection of designs designed to be embroidered on cosplay costumes.
Artistic Designs
Artistic Designs is an interesting shop with lots to explore. They have quite a lot of delicate, heirloom type embroidery designs including several sets of quilt blocks. In addition they have designs for covered clothes hangers some delicately designed designs that are more humorous in nature.
Ashley Embroidery
Ashley Embroidery offers a lot of cute stuff. Their woodland houses applique set is darling and would make a darling quilt or a darling row in a row quilt. In addition there are other applique designs featuring ships, whales, and lighthouses if one wanted to do a nautical theme. Don’t miss Sunbonnet Sue and Sam, they’re cute too.
A Stitch A Half
Want to dress up a plain t-shirt or two? Check out A Stitch A Half for their neckline designs. They have several and they are striking! Check out the jewelry section for gorgeous designs for free standing lace earrings. Don’t miss the rest of the site, there’s lots more to see here.

Aunt Marthas is home to digitized versions of designs like we used to buy for hand embroidery back in the day.

A Vintage Touch carries digitized versions of designs similar to those that we used to buy for hand embroidery.
Az Embroidery Barn
Az Embroidery Barn is a great place to go if you love butterflies (or if someone you want to gift loves butterflies). There are lots of beautiful butterfly designs on the site. There are several sets of cute free standing lace embroidery designs for earrings, including snowflakes, Christmas motifs, flowers, and more. There are also realistic designs for various animals including a bear, pheasant, owl, and several breeds of dogs.
Baby Nucci
If you like cats be sure to check out the cats section of this site. They have a lot of cats in various styles. There’s also a big selection of heart designs as well as a large collection of wording and images that would be great embroidered on a shirt for a special dad for Father’s Day.
Beau Mitchell Boutique
Beau Mitchell’s has a lot of really cute applique designs. Be sure to check out the offerings under seasons for sand buckets and sand shovels and there’s several pieces of heavy equipment that would be darling for a little boy’s quilt they’re under the construction heading. Don’t miss the 6 color applique unicorn either. It’s too cute!
Becky J’s Cross Stitch
Becky J’s is a neat shop which specializes in machine cross stitch design. If you like Christmas villages, be sure to check out the village designs, there are several sets of them. You’ll also find several sets of dogs and several sets of Sunbonnet Sue.
Bee Stitchin’ Embroidery
Bee Stitchin’ Embroidery offers quite a few in the hoop projects for kids stuffies, lots of keyring designs, in the hoop door signs, crayon rolls, ornaments and more.
Belinda Joy’s Designs
Belinda Joy’s is a smaller shop with some really cute designs. There’s a cute applique elephant, a darling applique Santa, some lovely floral embroidery, and more.
Bella Bleu Embroidery
Bella Bleu’s offers one of the bigger selections of reading pillow designs that I’ve seen. There are pages of them. There are also lots of other cute designs, circus trains, farm trains, in the hoop projects and more.
Belliboos Designs
Belliboos has a lot of cute designs, many suitable for children’s wear. There are lots of cute applique designs including a darling bulldog, a frog, a pretty butterfly and a cute cat.
Betty’s Sunset Threads
Betty’s offers several nice sets intended to be stitched out on fabric and then colored with fabric crayons. There are other nice sets too. These include Native Americans, Cactus, and butterflies.
BFC Creations
BFC Creations offers many highly detailed filled embroidery designs including a lovely western saddle, a tiger, some pusses where you make each embroidered piece and then join the pieces to complete the project.
Big Dreams Embroidery
Whatever the theme of your Birthday party you’ll find a design for a bunting to decorate for the big day when you shop Big Dreams Embroidery. The site also features a lot of other applique embroidery designs.
Blasto Stitch
Blasto Stitch wows with the quantity of designs available on their site. As of this writing there was an opportunity to get everything on the site for $30. That includes both applique and embroidery and everything in all the categories. Over 1400 decorative and floral, over 400 in the transportation category, 345 fonts and lots, lots more.
Blue Stitch Sky
Blue Stitch Sky offers a nice selection of very detailed applique designs including several sets of designs that allow one to make a whole picture using applique. There’s a pair of turtles that are cute and an octopus too and then there’s a set of chickadee coasters that are really nice. Check them out for more.
Bunnycup Embroidery
Bunnycup Embroidery is a big site with a lot of designs in different categories. There’s applique, filled embroidery, cute sayings that would be fun for wall hangings or apparel. There are lots of holiday specific designs as well as seasonal designs. Check them out to see everything they offer.
Calico Cali Designs
Calico Cali has some cute designs for quilt labels. They also offer some pretty free-standing lace designs, including a design for a sleigh. Check them out to see more of what they offer.
Carmella’s Corner
Carmella’s Corner offers a lot of filled embroidery designs. Many of them would be delightful stitched out as quilt blocks and made into quilts for babies and kids. There are also lots of cute holiday designs which would be cute on kitchen decor items.
Charming Station Embroidery
Charming Station Embroidery offers a nice selection of designs to stitch on mylar. These include a lovely set of butterfly lace bookmarks, Christmas decorations and more. There’s also a cute set of sayings relating to quilting. These would be cute on t-shirts or sweatshirts. There’s lots more to check out at this shop.

Cinch2Stitch offers quite a few in the hoop projects. A lot of these are for baby shoes. They also offer baby bottle covers and shoe tags that attach to a typical pair of sneakers.
Cookie Cat Creations
Cookie Cat offers a big collection of folk art inspired designs in filled and applique styles.
Crafty Creations
Crafty Creations offers a bit of everything from 3 dimensional flower coasters to quilt block designs to delicate heirloom type embroidery.
Crafty Crow Creations
Crafty Crow features a big selection of in the hoop projects for a diverse collection of things including wallets, crochet hook pouches, reading glass pouches, eyeglass cases, doll shoes, pouches for holding pens and pencils and much more.
Creative Appliques
Creative Appliques has a lot of in the hoop projects, including a set of bands for securing and labeling embroidery stabilizers, several cute designs for gift card holders made in the hoop, a ton of seasonal mug rugs and miniature wall hangings.
Creatively Yours
This site offers some really pretty applique designs including a set of Baltimore album applique, a couple of sets of applique Victorian ladies, and a floral alphabet that is lovely…among other offerings.
C-Some-Stitches
C-Some offers quite a few in the hoop projects, including hot pad holder, gift tags and keyrings, and more. They also offer some nice free standing lace covers for tea light electric candles.
Cuddle Me Crazy
Cuddle Me Crazy offers a big selection of machine embroidery designs…many or which are suitable for children. Many of the design sets would make darling blocks for a child’s quilt.
Cute Embroidery Designs
True to their name, Cute Embroidery Designs does have tons of cute embroidery designs. They also have a free design each day and sometimes have great sales on other designs. I love their set of applique doggies.
Daffy Down Dilly
Daffy Down Dilly offers mostly cartoon styled filled embroidery that would be cute on children’s apparel or used to make quilt blocks for children’s quilts. They also have a few in the hoop projects including a couple of crayon roll projects that are nice.
Daily Embroidery
Daily Embroidery is a subscription based shop. For a small subscription fee paid monthly or yearly you can have access to their entire collection of designs with at least two new ones added each day. Most designs are filled embroidery style but there are some applique and some in the hoop projects as well.
Dancing Needle
Dancing Needle offers mostly cartoon style filled embroidery. There are some cute Raggedy Ann Designs and some cute ducks and many others to check out.
Dancing Thread
Dancing Thread offers a variety of designs of various types including dainty embroidery, filled designs, in the hoop projects and more. Their Wheats and Daisy design would be beautiful stitched on table linens.
Designs By Babymoon
Designs By Babymoon has tons of freestanding lace earrings available. They have cute flip-flops, darling dashounds, flowers, watermelon slices, and more. They also have a good selection of in the hoop designs for cases that hold hand sanitizer. There’s also a selection of strap wrap medical alert designs that I’ve not seen anywhere else.
Designs By Celeste
Designs By Celeste offers a variety of embroidery designs of different subject matter. Most designs are either colored outline stitch or filled embroidery. There are several sets of designs that would make darling quilt blocks, including a set of sunbonnets with puppies.

There’s also a package of embroidered labels that would be ideal for labeling your handmade projects. Digitizing With Love is a great site to shop for embroidery font designs. They have a HUGE selection arranged within categories like hearts, starry, script, block, etc.

Dolls and Daydreams specializes in in the hoop projects for babies and children, including lots of in the hoop designs for stuffies and dollies.
East Coast Applique
East Coast Applique offers both in the hoop and applique designs. In the hoop designs include several packages of cute corner-style bookmarks, sports focused key fobs, and vinyl bracelets.

Embroidery Library is a huge site with embroidery designs in about every category you can imagine. Their site is worth a weekly visit because they release new designs which come out at a reduced price every Tuesday. They also hold a sale each week with new items discounted each Tuesday.

Embroidery Online is a nice site which offers a variety of embroidery of several different types including free standing lace, embroidery, in the hoop designs, and more. Among their offerings is a free standing lace village that is lovely. They also offer in the hoop cord keepers which would be useful for taming a tangle of wires.
Embroidery Panda
Embroidery Panda is a robust site with a big variety of designs arranged by topic. There are a lot of designs that would be darling embroidered on children’s clothing or used to make quilt blocks. There are also cute sayings and several fonts.
Embroidery Playground
Embroidery Playground offers a nice selection of cute gnome embroideries. They’re also a nice site to shop if you’re looking for fonts or for pretty candlewick quilt blocks. They also have multiple sets of beautiful butterflies and flowers.

Check out Embroidery Super Deal and then get everything on their website, plus everything released in the future for $45.
Embroidery Weekly
Embroidery Weekly is a robust site with a lot of pretty designs. Be sure to check out their offerings under the free standing lace for a lovely selections of free standing lace doilies. But even more exciting (to me) is their selection of lace edgings. I can see these stitched out and used to trim handmade greeting cards. Don”t miss the quilt projects and blocks at this site. They offer a great selection of beautiful items.
Emerald Originals
Emerald Originals carries a variety of embroidery designs of various subject matter. Many of their designs come in both a single outline style and a filled style.
Enigma Embroidery
Enigma Embroidery offers a delightful selection of beautiful embroidery. They offer quite a bit of cutwork and lace projects, but also offer a darling complete kitchen set featuring owls. There’s a towel topper, hot pad holders, a bowl warmer and more in the set. There’s also a darling set of construction equipment that would make a darling little boy’s quilt.
Erinas Designs
Erinas Designs features quite a few sets of applique quilt blocks. They also offer several in the hoop organizers that are quite nice.
Especially For You
If you enjoy combining embroidery with quilting, you’ll want to check out Especially for You. They have a nice selection of embroidered quilt blocks as well as a set of Bride’s Boquet placemat and flatware holder.
Fancy That Designs
Fancy That Designs is a treasure trove of embroidery designs. You will definitely want to check out the horse heads that would be perfect embroidered on the back of a jacket for the horse lover in your life. Also of note are the delicate highly detailed arbors and florals. There’s also a lot of Christmas designs including a pretty nativity design centered in hearts.
Fit 2B Stitched
Fit 2B Stitched features a big selection of embroidery designs organized within a dozen or more categories including applique, free standing lace, bookmarks, animals, angles and fairies, quilt blocks, in the hoop and more.
Five Star Fonts Embroidery
Five Star Fonts Embroidery has a lot to offer. Don’t let the name fool you, they offer a lot more than just fonts. Their in the hoop category includes several pockets/cases that are both useful and practical, for example, they have a powdered drink mix pouch, a manicure pouch for the 5/7 hoop, a business card case and more. They also offer a floor duster cover to make in the hoop. They also offer a large selection of fonts of various types and styles.
Free Standing Lace Design Studio
Free Standing Lace Design Studio features a good sized selection of free standing lace designs in a variety of categories. They have some cute 4th of July designs as well as some cute designs for golf bag tags.
From The Needle Of Anne
From The Needle Of Anne offers delicate, beautiful embroidery designs and free standing lace. Their offerings include several packages of machine embroidery designs for making barefoot sandals as well as packages for making napkin rings, bookmarks, doilies, jewelry and other lace work. They also have several alphabets.
GG Designs
GG Designs carries a selection of applique, in the hoop and filled embroidery designs. Designs are offered as singles rather than in packages, but there are some designs that would make great applique blocks for children’s quilts. My favorites include a sailboat and a tugboat. In the hoop designs include pencil toppers, cases and bags, softies, and more.
Glasisco
Glasisco has a sizeable collection of lace embroidery designs available on their site. Many or theirs would be suitable for joining end to end to create a border.
Graceful Embroidery
The name of this site suits its offerings well. It features a lot of delicate, dainty, heirloom quality embroidery designs. There are some beautiful Christmas designs, designs suited for stitching on sheer material, as well as several sets of beautiful quilt block designs.
Grand Slam Designs
Grand Slam Designs is a large site with A LOT to offer. They have a HUGE collection of free standing lace, a lot of free standing lace Christmas and other holiday ornaments. They also feature a large selection of applique designs, and other embroidery designs including a big selection of Christmas designs. They have several cute Santa designs and several Victorian Christmas designs.
Great Notions
Great Notions has a lot of beautiful designs, but some of their most striking are their realistic fish and wildlife designs. They do seem to specialize in highly detailed, realistic designs.
Hatched In Africa
Hatched in Africa carries a lot of beautiful designs. Their offerings include both realistic and highly detailed designs and more cartoon type designs that still manage to be highly detailed. The site features a nice selection of floral designs as well as some beautiful Christmas designs.
Havilah Embroidery
Havilah is a smaller site, but it is jam packed with pretty applique. Much of it would work great as quilt blocks for quilts. One could use the house applique, the hearts, the owls, or the vehicles to make themed quilts or they could use the designs to make rows in a broader focused row quilt.
Heav n Sent Creations
Heav’n Sent offers an eclectic mix of machine embroidery designs. Their offerings include designs for mug rugs, several packages which include sayings or words in artistic form. They also have a cute winter village set and other designs too numerous to list. If you’re in the market for continuous line quilting designs be sure to check them out here.
Holly’s Embroidery Designs
Holly’s is a good-sized site with a broad variety of embroidery designs. They sell embroidery designs, in the hoop designs, applique designs, and free standing lace designs.
Herrington Design
Herrington Design is a great place to go for fonts and for sayings. They have their fonts arranged by font type. Curly fonts, sale fonts, western fonts, for example. They also have monogram frames in a separate category on the site.
Kate Gallery Embroidery
Kate’s Gallery includes a lot of pretty designs for free standing lace Christmas ornaments, including a pretty sleigh, some winter houses, some cute Santas and more.
Lira Embroidery
Lira Embroidery has a good selection of highly detailed embroidery designs. They have a super realistic gnome that is quite cute as well as a lamb with glasses, an Easter bunny, a cute puppy and a pair of Christmas reindeer. They also have a nice selection of free standing lace designs including quite a few designs for earrings, pendants, bracelets and more. Their Christmas designs are lovely.
NLS Embroidery Express
NLS Embroidery Express carries a nice selection of free standing lace. Among their lace offerings are a couple of darling sets of gnomes that require checking out if you’re a gnome fan.
Sew Cute Angel
Sew Cute Angel offers some darling free standing lace. They have several nautical designs including an anchor, a sea turtle, a mermaid and others. They also have several beautiful lace butterfly designs. Be sure to check out the free standing lace earrings as well.
Sue Box Creations
Sue Box Creations is a nice site with a variety of beautiful designs. They have a sizeable collection of lace designs, a nice selection of realistic, highly detailed designs including mushrooms, teddy bears and animals. The animals would make darling quilt blocks for a child’s quilt.
SVG Embroidery
SVG Embroidery has a big selection of embroidery designs. There are several nice sets for making earrings and several cute sayings that would be fun to embroider on sweatshirts or wallhangings.
The Stitch Hiker
The Stitch Hiker is a relatively small shop with some beautiful designs. They have a rose pendant and earring set that’s gorgeous as well as lots of other floral designs.
